    Yggdrasil Gaming

Malta-based Yggdrasil was formed in 2013 by Fredrik Elmqvist, the once CEO of NetEnt. Frederick formed Yggdrasil with the intention of creating state-of-the-art casino games that extended beyond the number-based offerings that were dominating the online gambling industry. The rather complex-sounding name pays homage to the Yggdrasil, a massive ash tree that features heavily in Scandinavian mythology. The Yggdrasil is home to eagles and dragons and holds the door to all nine mythical worlds, including the home of the gods, Asgard.

Although Yggdrasil is still somewhat the new kid on the casino block, its software has attracted a lot of positive attention due, in part, to its cutting-edge casino software and reliable customer service. To be frank, many of Yggdrasil’s online slot games leave the competition in the dust. Its casino games are innovative, compelling, and so technologically advanced that its competitors are going to have to change direction to even start to compete.

Yggdrasil’s revolutionary iSense technology is underpinned by HTML5 code and offers a range of features including the ability to allow particle animations, produce smoother stop motion/stop frame animations, and program CSS3 transitions that make it possible to adjust the effects from one style to another without the need for Flash or Java. Although this may all sound fairly basic, it allows the end user to interact with Yggdrasil’s games on a wide range of mobile and desktop devices, regardless of the operating system in use. Yggdrasil is mobile ready, future-ready, and taking online gambling beyond the realms of what was previously thought possible.

Yggdrasil’s titles span a wide range of game types including lottery offerings, video slots machines, traditional scratch cards, jackpot casino games, scratch card-themed titles, and video keno, and we get the feeling that there is much, much more to come. Two of the most popular video slots that Yggdrasil has already brought to market are Winterberries and Jokerizer. Winterberries is a rather basic, sweet-based slot game with free spins, re-spins and multiplier features, while the Jokerizer is a 5-reel, 10-payline video slot that is quite obviously based on the very popular Mega Joker Classic slot. The Jokerizer incorporates a range of impressive features, including a mystery scatter and a Jokerizer Mode.

While the casino games that Yggdrasil have already launched do bear a strong resemblance to NetEnt video slots, they are of an exceptional quality and incorporate some very progressive graphic qualities and beyond-realistic animations.
