Pennsylvania Sportsbook Launched by Scientific Games and Caesars Entertainment
Scientific Games and Caesars Entertainment have teamed up to launch a sportsbetting offering in Philadelphia at the Harrah’s Philadelphia Casino and Racetrack.
This means that players in Philadelphia have a range of sportsbetting resorts to choose from, given that Parx Casino in Bensalem launched its strong Kambi-powered sportsbook earlier in 2019.
Harrah’s Philadelphia will only accept wagers which are placed in person at the casino at first, and will rely upon OpenBet technology from Scientific Games to do so. Online and mobile sportsbetting are also in the works, though, and it’s expected to release in the first quarter of 2019.
Scientific Games is also going to be responsible for providing ongoing managed trading via its Don Best trading group.
Christian Stuart is the Executive Vice President of Gaming and Interactive Entertainment at Caesars, and he had this so say about the new deal:
"We've worked seamlessly with Scientific Games to cement our sportsbook presence in new markets with great speed and we're excited to usher in a new era of sports betting capabilities for Pennsylvania players at Caesars."
For his part Jordan Levin, the Executive Vice President and Group Chief Executive Digital at Scientific Games said:
"This is the third state in which we've launched sports betting with Caesars, following in the footsteps of New Jersey and Mississippi, and we're thrilled to see constant growth in our partnership."
