Yggdrasil unveils new Penguin City slot
Players don't always demand the latest tricks and gimmicks; often they just want to have some fun when playing. Yggdrasil's new Penguin City game recognizes this desire. The company, which leads the industry in game development, has designed a unique new game, in which penguins have to be freed from the Emperor Penguin, a black-hearted penguin who enslaves all the sweet penguins as workers.
An outstanding feature of the new game is Penguin Escape Mode. If a player receives a wild in a winning spin on the second or fourth reel, they can activate this feature, which keeps the wild ever-present during the round until a non-winning spin comes up.
During Escape Mode, penguins offer players Sticky Wilds in the second and fourth reels, with the chance of a winning symbol appearing on the third reel. In Escape Mode, every time a spin is taken, Penguin will try to escape, until a non-winning spin, when the attempts are ended. If the Emperor Stacked Wild appears this guarantees a win every time the reels are spun until he disappears. This highly entertaining game will doubtless become a firm favorite with online players.
Yggdrasil’s Head of Slots, Jonas Strandman, stated in a press release that “Penguin City has been a great opportunity for our development team to produce a really fun, light-hearted game packed full of features and a rich user experience. We had great fun creating it, and we are sure the players will have fun playing it, as in addition to the quirky characters and relaxed atmosphere we’ve also created a game mechanic perfect the more casual players – a low variance game that can also pay out big wins, if the sticky wilds land right and take you on a long winning streak!”
Continuous content development
The news of the Penguin City release came a little more than a month after Yggdrasil’s announcement of its new video slot Tut’s Twister. The game is themed on ancient Egypt and the renowned Tutankhamen, giving players a very generous 97.1% return.
