Quickspin Slots Set to Go Live in Newly Re-Regulated Swedish market
Swedish online casino game developer, Quickspin, will be among the first to have its award-winning portfolio of casino games offered by native operators on January 1, 2019, when the Scandinavian nation‘s re-regulated gambling market opens.
Gambling Act
In June of this year, the Riksdag (Swedish Parliament) approved the proposal to introduce a new licensing system to the Swedish gaming market. The new Gambling Act (SFS 2018:1138), requires anyone operating in the Swedish gambling market to have a government approved license to do so. The new law will apply to all games based in Sweden and to internet based games that target the Swedish market.
Thirty of Quickspin’s most popular titles will be made available to players in the new year, including Second Strike, Wild Chase, Phoenix Sun, Dragon Shine and Sakura Fortune.
Access to Features
Players and Swedish casino operators will also be able to access Quickspin’s added features, including Challenges, Tournaments, Achievement Races and Achievements.
Chief Executive Officer for Quickspin, Daniel Lindberg reportedly said that the move was, “one of the developer’s most significant in recent times.”
“First-Mover Advantage“
Lindberg added, “Being one of the first slots to go live with Swedish players is incredibly exciting for us. As well as being our home market, we have been preparing for this opportunity with our operating partners since August this year – and are delighted to have first-mover advantage.
“We live and breathe slots and are especially proud of our Swedish origins. Our mission is to create games that players love, and we’re looking forward to bringing our games home as soon as the year begins.”
Impressive Year
Quickspin appears set to close 2018 with an impressive list of achievements, including its July release ‘Eastern Emeralds’ being shortlisted for the prestigious award of ‘Game of year 2018’ in the EGR Operator Awards. The game is one of Quickspin’s most successful releases of the year and boasts its highest-ever multiplier.
Now live in Italy and Poland
Slots from the Playtech Group company also went live in Italy’s regulated market with the launch of Pokerstars, a leading online brand globally.
For the first time, they are also live in Poland as part of the Playtech Group’s arrangement with Totalizator Sportowy. The state-owned company owns the LOTTO brand and is the Central European country’s largest operator.
New Releases and Multi-Jurisdictional
The Swedish game studio was founded in 2011 and acquired by Playtech in 2016, and has released a string of video slots this year, including its most recent, Ivan and the Immortal King.
Licensed in the United Kingdom and in Alderney, the firm’s award-winning game content has seen Quickspin entering into agreements with several industry-leading operators this past year.
