Scientific Games and Oneida Indian Nation Partnership is Approved
According to a recent announcement from the National Indian Gaming Commission, the potential sports betting partnership between leading iGaming operator Scientific Games (SG) and the Oneida Indian Nation, has just been approved.
The deal was first announced back in January, but it’s only just made it through the rolls of red tape. It means that SG will provide their OpenSports software to all three establishments owned and operated by Oneida Indian Nation.
The deal means that Oneida Indian Nation will be afforded the opportunity to provide sports betting in their Turning Stone Resort, Point Place and Yellow Brick Road casinos as soon as sports betting legislation takes effect. They will be perfectly placed to benefit from this approaching legislation and will be given an immediate chance to become a leading figure on the New York sports betting landscape.
A spokesperson for SG said that they were “making great strides” with their preparations for the oncoming law changes, before adding that they were “honoured” to be working with the Oneida Indian Nation.
A representative for the Indian gaming corporation also spoke on the partnership, declaring their pride and excitement at being one of the first Indian nations to offer sports betting in the United States, adding that they believed the partnership with SG would greatly benefit Oneida Indian Nation and all of their customers.
SG have been very active in 2019 and this is just one of the many partnerships that they have signed. They recently announced a deal with Big Time Gaming (BTG) that gave them permission to use BTG’s Megaways mechanic, a feature that greatly expands a slot’s “ways to win” and is highly-sought after by players. They were quick to put this feature to use, implementing it in there Medusa Megaways title.
