New regulations come into force, Microgaming adhere to them

    Published Published 27/10-2020

Microgaming has been busy recently with a huge number of different game releases put out this month. However, it’s also made it clear that it will be adhering to the new online gambling regulations that Germany has put into force. It means that Microgaming will be working hard to make sure that its games comply with the new legislation when it is rolled out.

New regulations not fought by Microgaming

Because it releases games on such a regular schedule, it comes as no shock that Microgaming has acted proactively to the news that Germany is making iGaming rule changes. These new legislations are designed to make sure that more social responsibility is taken by developers and operators within the iGaming sphere. This is something that Microgaming has always been fully behind, so it’s no surprise that it has publicly announced it supports these new measures.

The new rules mean that gamers have to wait 5 seconds between each spin of the reels. There will also be limits on how much players are able to deposit each much, how much can be staked and games must offer German as a language choice.

Changes must be made by July in 2021

Because the rules come in during the middle of 2021, it means that there is a small grace period available to companies. The time between now and then will give casinos and developers the opportunity to bring their services up to the new codes. However, once the new regulations come into force then all operators and developers must apply for new licenses.

The reason for this is that the regulations are almost completely being rewritten. So it means that totally new checks must be carried out in order to find out if the regulations are being conformed to. Anyone that doesn’t conform to the new regulations won’t be allowed to operate within the country.

It is because of this that Microgaming announced that it would be launching a new piece of software that was in line with the new German regulations. This would allow anyone who uses Microgaming software the ability to easily enter into the German market.

Because there are well over 100 different casino games already available through Microgaming, it means that this will be a big relief to a lot of different online casinos. Players will still be able to enjoy their favourite Microgaming titles without having to worry if they don’t comply with the new regulations. It also means that Microgaming won’t have to worry about losing an important revenue stream.
