The Last 16 – Euro 2020 sports betting!
The group stage of the Euro 2020s has now concluded, and we are left with 16 of the best teams in Europe. One of these 16 teams will be the winner when the tournament ends in 17 days. The tournament has so far given us a lot of goals, excitement, and some big surprises. We who love football have been moved by teams who fought back from positions where it almost seemed impossible to win. We’ve smiled at fantastic goals, and we are excited for more! In this article, we will prepare you for the coming games and inform you where you can place your Euro 2020 bets.
The final 16
The small break between the group stages and the last 16 gives us a chance to deep dive into the teams and decide who we believe can be a winner. We will list all the matches and who we believe will be the winners as well as the odds (at the moment of publication). After, we will go into where you can place these killer bets.
Wales vs. Denmark
Denmark had the worse start possible to the tournament, but they have gathered all their collective strength and their last game against Russia really gave us a taste of real Danish Dynamite. Wales has on the contrary not impressed, the biggest stars have not reached their full potential. Having said that, you never know what Bale and Ramsey have up their sleave.
Odds. Denmark (1.85), Draw (3.29), Wales (5.5)
We would put our money on Denmark as the return is still quite good!
Italy vs. Austria
If there is one team that has impressed us all it is Italy. They have played wonderful football even when playing with their “reserve” team. Austria qualified to the last 16 with two wins, one more convincing than the other. This is also the first time that Austria has qualified for the round of 16. There is a clear favourite and that is also reflected in the odds.
Odds. Italy (1.48), Draw (4.4), Austria (7.95)
We probably wouldn’t bet on this game unless we bet on Italy winning with 2 goals or something.
the Netherlands vs. Czech Republic
The Netherlands is another of the teams that have impressed us winning all of their games convincingly. Wijnaldum is also on a shared second place for the golden boot with three goals. The Czech Republic played a great game against the Scottish but has since lost their stride.
Odds. Netherlands (1.71), Draw (3.91), Czech Republich (5.35)
We would put our money on the “Het Nederlands Elftal” (the Dutch eleven). They’ve been too good to end as a draw.
Belgium vs. Portugal
Here things get tricky. Belgium had a rough first half against Denmark but besides that they have impressed A LOT. Lukaku with his three goals and De Bruyne have found each other and are playing in harmony. Portugal have one of the best players ever on their team and Ronaldo does make all the difference. Belgium has a slight upper hand on the odds.
Odds. Belgium (2.54), Draw (3.19), Portugal (3.14)
We think this game can go either way, it might even end a draw. But our gut says, Belgium will win with a lot. So here, we would place our bets on Belgium!
Croatia vs. Spain
Croatia has improved through the group stage ending with a convincing win against Scotland. Spain was supposed to win their group, which they didn’t but they found their groove in the last game. There are still some question marks, but the odds still believe Spain will win and so do we.
Odds. Croatia (6.55), Draw (3.75), Spain (1.54)
The odds are not high but a small bet on Spain will still return a bit of money.
France vs. Switzerland
The reigning world champion didn’t sail smooth through the group of death as expected, but with two draws and a lucky win against Germany they took the nr 1 position in the group. They will face the Swiss who ended on the same number of points as Wales in group one but with-1 goal difference. The Swiss haven’t been great and this should be an easy win for the French.
Odds. France (1.54), Draw (4.10), Switzerland (7.45)
We would put our money on France, maybe in combination with putting money on Spain to up the chances of bringing home some money.
England vs. Germany
Is this the year that football is coming home? That is the question many English football fans are asking themselves. Germany won’t be an easy opponent for the English as can be reflected by the odds that are very close in this game. Germany played some of the most impressive football in the game against Portugal but have not been consistent.
Odds. England (2.6), Draw (3.32), Germany (2.93)
This is very difficult to call. Perhaps it would be best to put money on a draw. Either way this game goes it will be incredibly interesting.
Sweden vs. Ukraine
We don’t think a lot of people expected Sweden to end top of their group, yet here they are. They haven’t been playing the most entertaining football but have a strong sense of community. Ukraine has a lot of individual strength in players like Yarmolenko, Zinchencko and Malinovskiy, but the question is if Individual strength is stronger than the collective strength of the swedes.
Odds. Sweden (2.38), Draw (3.22), Ukraine (3.39)
This together with England vs. Germany game are the money cows. But they are also harder to see a clear winner. We would put our money on Sweden here, but then again who knows…
