Evolution Gaming Wins Major Award for Monopoly Live
For the second year running Evolution Gaming has picked up a major gaming award, this time for Monopoly Live, which was created as a twist on the hugely popular Dream Catcher title.
The award in question was for Game of the Year at the 2019 EGR Operator Awards, which was held on October 24 at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London, England. Last year they scooped the same award for Lightning Roulette, a game that has since become one of their most popular, adding a unique and high-speed twist to Roulette.
Fierce Competition
Swedish-based Evolution Gaming beat 13 other companies to win this prestigious award, which was presented to the gaming studio that has made the biggest impact and created the most impressive stand-alone title in the last 12 months.
The shortlisted operators were the ones that voted for the eventual winner, while the voting process was overseen by Deloitte, a multinational services network.
Monopoly Live
Monopoly Live is the game that won the plaudits for Evolution Gaming. It was created via a sublicense from Scientific Games Corporation (SG) and is available only through them. This is why Monopoly games have also been launched by WMS Gaming, which is owned by Scientific Games Corporation.
Monopoly Live is based on one of the most popular board games in the world, one that was created by Parker Bros, a company that was eventually acquired by Hasbro Inc in 1991, and one that has been enjoyed by every family. The iconic nature of this franchise, in addition to its potential for mini-games and gambling, has turned it into one of the most popular licenses for the iGaming sector and one that Evolution Gaming was able to put to very good use when launching Monopoly Live.
Another Big Win
A representative for Evolution Gaming commented on the recent award win, stating that they were honoured to be gifted such a major accolade for Monopoly Live and that it had been a pleasure to work with one of the world’s best-loved brands.
The representative added that winning two awards in consecutive years was “something they had never dreamed of”, before stating that they were motivated to create more great games in 2020 and looked forward to seeing what the future would bring for the brand.
Big Year
2019 has been a very big year for Live-Dealer specialist, Evolution Gaming. In addition to its recent award for Monopoly Live, it was voted the Casino Content Supplier of the Year at the EGY Italy Awards, held on October 3 in the capital city of Rome. It has also released several games that have been very well received and have signed multiple deals with major iGaming brands from key markets all over the world.
One of its biggest successes came when the brand signed on the dotted line with Paddy Power Betfair, giving both the Betfair and Paddy Power domains access to their vast selection of Live Dealer games, including the Lightning series, Dream Catcher, Monopoly Live, and many Blackjack and Roulette games.
