Author Mathias Jensen Published Published 17/01-2019

On January 1 Sweden opened its regulated gaming market. Using a bespoke solution, award-winning content from Microgaming is now available on the Swedish market.

The company, based on the Isle of Man, has offered support to its operators by offering assistance throughout the license application process. Information and supporting documentation were offered and this means that its operators are now able to switch seamlessly to a “refined solution with localized content” that is targeted directly towards the Swedish market.

    Access to top-performing games

The developer is offering operators access to a host of its most popular games through the dedicated domain that is optimized for access from both desktop and mobile. This means that players can enjoy table games and popular slot titles such as Game of Thrones and Immortal Romance. Operators are also now able to offer access to the largest progressive jackpot network that exists, which has currently paid out in excess of a huge €973 million (US$1,113,431,144.00).

    Live Operators

A host of top operators – such as Betsson Group, BWIN, Genesis, Coolbet, Comeon, Global Gaming, Unibet, LeoVegas, Bet365, and PokerStars – have received licenses and are now live in Sweden, proudly offering content from Microgaming. As the year goes on and the market matures, more operators will join.

    Expansion into Regulated Markets

Andrew Clucas is the Chief Operating Officer for Microgaming, and he said in a statement:

“Sweden is a significant market for Microgaming and we are thrilled to offer our operators in the region a fully integrated solution to ensure compliance in line with regulations set by the Swedish Gaming Authority. This move continues our strategic expansion in key regulated markets, working closely with regulators and supporting operators as they grow their offering with our diverse portfolio of content built with player protection in mind.”

    A Launch in Bulgaria

Prima Networks Limited is a subsidiary of Microgaming, and last month it signed an agreement with National Lottery AD to offer online poker in Bulgaria via the site.

The Microgaming Poker Network has grown to become one of the most powerful in the world following its launch in 2003. Available in multiple languages, players can enjoy non-stop action and benefit from a huge range of promotions and Casino in Poker side games.

    A range of releases

In recent months Microgaming has released a range of high-quality video slots. Triple Edge Studios created a great sci-fi game called Action Ops: Snow & Sable, while Rabcat Computer Graphics GmbH (the producers of Castle Builder II) produced Crystal Rift.
