Yggdrasil eyes Swedish market with Svenska Spel content deal
Supplier of innovative gaming solutions, Yggdrasil, has entered into a new agreement with AB Svenska Spel iGaming subsidiary, Svenska Spel Sport & Casino, that will see it provide the operator with is top-performing online casino slots content. The new partnership will increase the developer’s footprint in what will soon be a regulated market in Sweden.
The most established and largest of gaming operators in the Swedish market, Svenska Spel boasts well-known brands, such as Lotto, Triss, Stryktipset, Oddset, Vegas and Casino Cosmopol. Through the latter, it operates four casinos in Stockholm, Gothenburg, Malmö and Sundsvall.
“We will be ready to go well ahead of the January 2019 launch date”
The agreement precedes new legislation ratified in June that is due to introduce a regulated iGaming market to Scandinavia’s most populated nation from January 1, 2019.
Under the terms of the agreement, next year the operator will go live with a range of popular slot games from Yggdrasil including Penguin City, Tut’s Twister and the recently released Hanzo’s Dojo, in which players battle fierce fighters from the land of the Rising Sun.
Chief Executive Officer for Yggdrasil, Fredrik Elmqvist said:
“We’re really happy to have agreed terms with Svenska Spel ahead of the Swedish market regulating next year.
“Our strategy to expand our regulated market footprint is ahead of schedule and demand from operators across a wide variety of regulated and newly regulating markets is rapidly growing. We will be ready to go well ahead of the January 2019 launch date.”
Also commenting on the new partnership, Fredrik Wastenson, Managing Director for Svenska Spel Sport & Casino, added:
“Yggdrasil was an obvious choice when selecting a casino gaming solutions partner. The innovative offering performs well in regulated markets and we are confident they will attract a large following in Sweden.”
